The Chase Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Fullerton, California. We are dedicated to serving adults with disabilities through our vocationally driven day program. Currently, in the process of being vendorized by Orange County Regional Center to help families access our program resources.
Founded and run by special educators, Chase Foundation is determined to continue education opportunities to individuals in our communities. Through our program we pave the way for adults with disabilities to enhance their vocational & social skills and apply them in inclusive settings around our community.
The Chase Foundation focuses on functional academics and skills to help adults thrive in our community. We will provide a safe space for adults to continue their education, receive individualized support in obtaining and maintaining a job, creating friendships and much more.
This rotation focuses on running activities/lessons that focus on hands-on learning in a simulated work environment. This experience-based learning teaches skills needed to be successful in a job or career. This rotation will run as a small group.
Examples: Resume writing, data entry, food service, clerical/tech office, stocking, organizing materials, analyzing data, food prep etc.
Pivotal response training (PRT) adopts a more naturalistic approach that focuses on targeting skills that are pivotal to development across social, communication, and behavior. Some pivotal areas identified include motivation, self-initiation, and self-management.
Target Skills: Communication, turn taking, emotions, self-regulation, metacognition
Reading skills will be targeted through a variety of activities. Some of the target skills during this rotation will be: reading comprehension, listening comprehension, retelling, main idea, compare & contrast, sequencing, spelling and writing.
Math skills will be targeted through a variety of activities. Some of the target skills during this rotation will be: counting, addition, subtraction, money, making a purchase, menu math, word problems, time and graphing.
Activities of Daily Living (ADL), are all the essential, basic self-care tasks that people need to do every day to keep themselves safe, healthy, clean and feeling good: from getting up in the morning, showering, grooming, preparing and cooking meals, shopping, traveling, maintaining the house, gardening and taking care of pets. These skills will be targeted in vivo and mock settings. This rotation will run as a small group.
This rotation focuses on engaging in adapted physical activities to promote a healthy lifestyle. Activities may include lifting weights, cardio, targetting strength training, and physical group games.
